Sr IA Engineer - Voice

At CFOTech, we are looking for a Senior AI Engineer with advanced English to join an important client focused on software and product development.

In this role, you will design, build, and deploy production-grade AI systems, with a strong focus on voice, agentic AI, and real-time applications, where reliability and low latency are critical.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build LLM-based agents and multi-step workflows using orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph (or equivalent), with explicit and auditable state management.
  • Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems that meet strict real-time latency requirements by making deliberate, well-reasoned tradeoffs between retrieval quality and response speed.
  • Own AI features end-to-end, from prototyping through production deployment, monitoring, and continuous iteration.
  • Refactor and improve live production systems without disrupting service for active customers.
  • Build and maintain evaluation frameworks and regression testing pipelines to ensure changes are validated against real-world scenarios—not demos—and that failures are detected before reaching production.
  • Develop scalable Python APIs and services that expose AI capabilities to web, voice, and mobile applications.
  • Implement observability, tracing, and performance monitoring across deployed AI systems, tracking latency, quality, and cost.
  • Work with a multi-LLM stack (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.) behind a provider abstraction layer, ensuring model selection remains a configuration decision rather than requiring code rewrites.
  • Collaborate daily within a remote, sprint-based engineering team, taking ownership of assigned work, reviewing pull requests through quality gates, and proactively identifying risks and blockers.

Requisitos mínimos

  • 4+ years of experience in AI/Machine Learning or AI-focused Software Engineering, with real-world production systems successfully deployed.
  • Hands-on experience building LLM applications and AI agents using models such as OpenAI, Claude, or open-source LLMs, along with orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, or equivalent.
  • Strong experience with RAG architectures and information retrieval, including embeddings, vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, or similar), and practical optimization for both quality and speed.
  • Strong Python skills, including experience developing production-ready APIs using FastAPI or similar frameworks.
  • Experience evaluating and testing AI systems using tools such as RAGAS, Maxim, Promptfoo, LLM-as-a-Judge, or equivalent, with a mindset that "done means tested, not demonstrated."
  • Production cloud experience (preferably AWS) with Docker, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including automated testing, code reviews, version control (Git), and modular software design.
  • Proven experience deploying, monitoring, maintaining, and refactoring AI systems running in production.
  • Experience with AI-native development workflows using tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot, along with the discipline to safely ship AI-assisted code through automated validation and code reviews.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, high autonomy, and the ability to work effectively within a fully remote team, maintaining at least 4 hours of overlap with the U.S. Eastern Time (ET) timezone.
  • Nice to Have
  • Experience building real-time or low-latency voice/conversational systems, including streaming audio, turn-taking, and interruption handling.
  • Familiarity with telephony or real-time media infrastructure such as Twilio, LiveKit, WebRTC, Deepgram, and ElevenLabs.
